And Trace ties the knot

I have known Tracey (Trace) most of my life as she grew up around the corner from me and our parents were old friends...

We became close friends while working for the same company, Caribbean Star Airlines. I worked at the Antigua Airport while she was a Flight Attendant. She was always a high energy person who is indeed fun to be around. Not to mention the parties we used to throw ever so often at either her place or her sister, Hazel's. Truly the life of the party, there is just never a dull moment when she's around. I remember December 2006, Trace kept harassing me to accompany her to Sint Maarten for a weekend. I wasn't keen on going so I used to make excuses like, I'm broke or I have things to do this weekend.

In February 2007 as soon as I returned from Trinidad Carnival she called and asked what I was doing that weekend. I replied, Nothing. She said "Great, and don't tell me your broke cause you just got a big pay off... We are going to Sint Maarten!" I couldn't back out so I agreed.

Trace left early the morning of the trip and we agreed I would come over later that day as I have never been a morning person, nor did I intend to try to be for the sake of friendship. LOL. When I arrived in Sint Maarten, I spent about an hour speaking with old friends at the airport and I finally called Trace to find out where we were staying. I got the directions and was on my way.

On arrival at the hotel, we went out for dinner to this 'cheap and cheerful' Mexican Restaurant. While eating, Trace looked over and said, "I have someone to introduce to you." I was a bit puzzled but I didn't ask any questions. If you know her as well as I do, you would know that she generally always has something up her sleeve. We then went on to talk about what we should do for nightlife. After careful consideration and deliberation, Maho won the toss.

I called Kerwan, an ex Caribbean Star colleague to pick us up and we were off to the 'City that Never Sleeps' SXM Style. What a fantastic weekend it was.

Got sidetracked a bit lot, let me get back on topic...

I remember meeting Owen that weekend, he is a cool, calm and always collected individual. Working on a yacht, he was taken out of his normal environment of his Native Australia and transplanted, at the time, in Sint Maarten. It still baffles me to this day how the stars aligned and brought him to Antigua to meet Trace at Abracadabra! Now, they are getting married.

So it all happens on Friday, I am very excited as I know this will be the Wedding of the year. Congrats, Trace and Owen!
